HER TIME TO RIDE

December 18, 2014

CALGARY, AB (December 18, 2014) – The Motorcycle Show – Calgary presented by Dalton Timmis Insurance takes place January 9-11, 2015 at the BMO Centre, Stampede Park. The doors open at noon on Friday and remain open until 5:00 pm on Sunday.

This is the only opportunity that Southern Albertans will have to check out the 2015 showcase of new makes and models of ATV’s, motorcycles  and scooters, all at one convenient location.

The Show kicks off on Friday with SHE Rides Nite.  After 5:00 pm all female attendees will receive half price admission.  “Every year we see more and more women getting involved in riding and we wanted to not only create an environment that was female friendly but also catered to their specific needs,” says Laurie Paetz, Show Manager, ”industry experts will be available to provide information and advice specific to the riding needs of the female rider.”

To provide a little inspiration to show goers, BMW Motorrad hosts Valerie Thompson, seven time land speed record holder with a special appearance. She is happy to share her story and experiences of a female in a male dominated industry.  To top off the evening one lucky lady will win a 2015 Kawasaki EX300 valued at over $6,000 courtesy of Canadian Kawasaki, Blackfoot Motosports, Pro AM Motorcycles and Bow Cycle.

Don’t miss the action packed Evolution of Extreme Thrill Show featuring some North American’s best MX Freestyle performers. These daredevils fearlessly fly through the air, tempting fate, as they execute tricks that are not for the faint of heart.  The thunderous sound of the engines as they approach the ramps is followed by the eerie silence as they become airborne, creates an exciting ambience.  Team Empire, sponsored by Parts Canada will join the show to astound audiences with the jaw dropping, show stopping antics they call “street stunts”.

If you want to bring your heart rate down a stroll through the Canadian Vintage Motorcycle display might just do the trick.  Admire the workmanship and design ingenuity of motorcycles that are classics. The owners are passionate about their bikes and have been collected and restored to their original glory, for all to enjoy.

The Alberta Trials Rider’s Association demonstrations are a must see.  Trials riding is a test of skill as riders navigate their way through a course of obstacles including logs, teeter totters, and railway ties without letting their feet touch the ground.  The control and balance that these riders demonstrate is truly amazing.

Harley Davidson Motor Company has recently revealed Project Livewire™ - the first Harley-Davidson® electric motorcycle.  Be one of the first to give it a try at the JUMPSTART ® demo area.  Show goers will be given an opportunity to hop on and start it up right at the show.

The Yamaha Kids Riding Academy is a hit for both parents and kids.  Children ages 6-12 can sign up to receive basic riding instruction from trained professionals. Participants will then be outfitted in a full set of motocross gear and given a chance to try their skills on a supervised and safe track.  What a great opportunity to introduce your kids to the sport.

This year’s Show will wrap up on Sunday, January 11th with an elimination style grand prize draw for a 2015 Triumph Special Edition Bonneville Newchurch.  One lucky show goers will walk away the proud owner of one of only 25 of these motorcycles available in Canada thanks to Triumph Motorcycles and Blackfoot Motosports.

LIFE IN THE FAST LANE

December 16, 2014

CALGARY, AB (December 16, 2014) – The Motorcycle Show – Calgary presented by Dalton Timmis Insurance takes place January 9-11, 2015 at the BMO Centre, Stampede Park. This premiere industry event will showcase the 2015 models from all the major manufacturers.

The 2015 Motorcycle Show – Calgary is not only the place to shop and compare all the makes and models but there is a huge selection of gear, apparel, and aftermarket accessories,” says Show Manager, Laurie Paetz, “the Show covers every conceivable aspect of riding, including clubs and associations, as well as Charity Rides and touring destinations, it is the must attend event for motorcycle enthusiasts of all ages.”

Although the 2015 models are sure to be crowd pleasers, many motorcycle enthusiasts are drawn to the classic beauty and ingenuity of some of the older motorcycles.  These unique machines, many dating back as far as the early 1900’s, will be on display at the Canadian Vintage Motorcycle Club exhibit.  Proud owners have collected and restored these gems and love nothing more than to share their unique stories with interested show goers.

Friday January 9th is “SHE RIDES NITE” at the Motorcycle Show – Calgary.  This is an evening geared to women who ride and those that are considering taking up the sport.  Industry professionals will be on hand to provide advice and answer all your questions.  This year we have a special guest appearance by Valerie Thompson, the seven-time land speed record holder.  She is sure to inspire those who possess a need for speed. Women receive half price admission after 5:00 pm and one lucky lady will ride away on a 2015 Kawasaki EX300 valued at over $6,000, courtesy of Canadian Kawasaki, Blackfoot Motosports, Pro AM Motorcycles and Bow Cycle.

The Alberta Trials Rider’s Association will be demonstrating one of the lesser known motorcycle disciplines, trials, which is a combination of agility and balance.  Riders maneuver over and through a series of obstacles with a level of control and finesse that is truly an art form.

The Corral will play host to the “Evolution of Extreme Thrill Show”, featuring some of North America’s top MX Freestyle riders.  Audiences will be wowed as these athletes fly through the air, defying all the laws of gravity.  Just to ensure that the action is non-stop; Nick “Apex” Brocha and Ernie “Edub” Vigil of Team Empire, sponsored by Parts Canada will join the action and demonstrate their unique form of street stunts on the arena floor.  Check on site for show times as you don’t want to miss out.

The Freestyle Show often sparks an interest in riding among the younger members of the audience.  For those that have never had the opportunity to ride or get on a bike, the Yamaha Kids Riding Academy provides just such an opportunity.  Kids age 6-12 take part in an instructional session which is followed up by the opportunity to gear up in the latest gear and take to the track to try their skills, all in a safe supervised environment.

If that weren’t enough the Show will be capped off on Sunday with finalists participating in an elimination style draw in the hopes of riding away on a brand new 2015 Triumph Special Edition Bonneville New Church, one of 25 that are available in Canada.  Don’t miss your chance to enter to win.
